Halloween (oh, I mean Fall Festival)!

After a relaxing afternoon with a friend (including Starbucks and a pedicure) and a fun night with my husband and kids, I am excited to share our Halloween photos!

We started the morning in matching Fall colors (I will defend Zane and say that he got dressed first, then the kids wanted their pumpkin shirts, so I decided I just had to match the rest of my family):

My sister, Kirsten, made the cute pumpkin shirts for our kids. They love them and even wore them two days in a row!

After dinner the kids were so excited to transform into a tiger and butterfly:

Last year Ashlyn had to be carried...she was so little:

But this year, she had fun with her big brother:

We went to the Youngsville Fall Festival. This was the first prize Ashlyn won:

She carried this Winnie the Pooh all night.
Bryson enjoyed all the games:

Daddy and his butterfly:

After the Fall Festival, it was about 7 pm. We decided to take the kids to Main Street in Wake Forest and trick or treat around all the historic houses where the cops were everywhere and it's probably the safest outdoor place to go. It is a very popular place to go on Halloween night so it was crowded, but the kids had fun. The good thing about it being a popular place is that the front lawns are all decorated really neat and all the families just sit out on their front porch because they don't get a break from trick or treaters. Bryson didn't understand why he was still allowed to be awake because it was dark and we could see the moon.:)

Even Ashlyn got in on the action when she realized that all she had to do was walk up and people would put candy in her basket.

Daddy and his tiger:

We had a fun night but now have to spend our day teaching our kids how to have portion control when it comes to candy! :)

Now just a couple videos of our kiddos talking:

Bryson and Ashlyn were so cute in their Halloween costumes. I loved to hear them talk. The Fall(Halloween) shirts were great. Your sister did a good job. It looked cute with the whole family in orange shirts. Yea! Did Ashlyn win last year too? It seemed I remembered her winning something. I loved your blog as usual. I looked for it yesterday and this morning. I was so happy to see you had posted one. Thanks again for keeping us posted on your family. I LOVE YOU! HUGS to all of you.

Love your blog, as usual. They look adorable in their costumes. Wish we could have seen all our kiddies in costume but the pictures are enough to last til December, I guess! Bryson and Ashlyn are doing so well with their talking. I love the way Bryson always says Mommy in every sentence. He's such a sweet spirited little boy...the way he answers is so sweet.
Love you all,
Mom (MIMI)

Yippee! I love your blogs. Your kids are getting so big. I can actually understand a little of what Bryson says. I, too, like the way he says mommy with every sentence. You are doing well....

I love the videos and they are most definitely, without a doubt the CUTEST tiger and butterfly I have ever seen :) Honest. I also love the pumpkin shirts-- very creative. Love you and miss you all!!

I love their costumes! And it's so cute to hear both of them talk. I agree with mom, Bryson is so sweet with the way he talks. By the way, I noticed (well, I've actually realized this for a long time, but whatever) that your and Zane's kids have two features I've always hoped my kids would have: curls (Ashlyn does, anyways)and blue eyes. I may get the curls, but I'm pretty sure we won't be having any blue eyed children. Darn!
