A Love For Sports

I guess the lack of blogging comes from two different reasons...
1.  I spent the last 3 weeks of January sick and during that time, Zane and the kids took turns being sick too.
2.  Because we were such a sick family, we obviously did nothing fun or "blogworthy".

So, now that we're feeling better, we will hopefully be back here more often!

Bryson did get to be the "Star Student" for part of this month and we enjoyed filling out this poster and hearing the answers he had for his questions:

I had no clue his dream in life is to work at Gamestop (although that doesn't necessarily surprise me since he loves the games and asks to go there almost daily).

But one thing that definitely did not shock me in his answers was the fact that his favorite book is any sports book.  The kids have really started loving going to the library to check out books and Bryson enjoys checking out books from school too.  Ashlyn will usually get books based on some cartoons she likes (Dora, Berenstain Bears, Franklin the Turtle, Curious George, etc.).  She tries to get different books each time.  Bryson, on the other hand, goes to the exact same aisle and the exact same set of shelves every time we enter the library.  Do you notice a trend in the books he checks out from the public library and school library??:
He also loves his Daddy's subscription to ESPN and saves all the magazines.  It's so funny to hear his excitement when there's a new magazine in the mail.  His private therapists even know that when they come to get him from the waiting room, he'll always be reading a Sports Illustrated magazine.
So, I couldn't quit laughing when he came home from school the other day with a brand new type of book:
My "sports boy" came home with an American Girl Doll book.  I found this to be hysterical and laughed as I showed Zane.  I asked Bryson nicely what made him pick this book, thinking that he was going to say that he found it for Ashlyn (since he's so sweet and likes to surprise Ashlyn with things).  Instead his answer was simply that they were out of all the sports books.  :)

But when I flipped the book over, I knew why he chose this book:
There was a sports section inside and that worked for him!!
My boy is definitely hilarious and loves him some sports!  He amazes both Zane and I with how much he knows about every team, the players, the coaches, the managers, etc.  He's been known to correct both of us if we say something wrong or use the wrong name.  He'd be a great teammate during a sports trivia contest!  I'm just so glad that Bryson has a subject that he loves and knows so much about and it definitely makes him one happy boy!!

I have missed your blogs, sorry to hear your family has been sick. I was sick for most of Jan. too. Hope everyone is well and you can have some fun outdoors.
Bryson is a little mini Zane and Papa Danny loving his sports. That is great that he is so dedicated to what he loves and interest him. We all could see in your blogs how excited he gets over going to games and participating with Zane in playing sports.
I would love to be able to see his poster better so I could read all of it. I love to hear and read about my great-grands.
Love you oodles,
Nanna
